A Voter’s Guide to Questions on Farm & Food Policy in the Carolinas from the CFSA

SC (Sep. 2018) The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) works with policymakers and community leaders across South and North Carolina to educate and collaborate on issues that affect food and farming. Activists across the Carolinas make an impact when we voice the importance of sustainable farming and community food systems to policymakers.

The CFSA created 2018 Questions for Candidates to equip you with questions to ask candidates running for elected office to understand their positions on the policies that impact farms and food systems. This guide aims for candidates and their communities to think about food, farming, food security, community gardening, and the environment. The more candidates learn about sustainable farming and food systems now, and their importance, the more likely they’ll be to support policies that foster these systems once elected.
