Master Gardeners of York County are encouraging amateur gardeners with an abundance of produce to share with local food banks and organizations who will use it. It is estimated that over 25% of York County residents are in need of food assistance. Local food pantries typically only stock canned/boxed food items while millions of American homeowners grow more food in their backyard gardens than they can possibly use.
